About

When a child, Aspen got lost dreamworld—that place in a child’s head where reality doesn’t matter. If she wasn’t busy being on the winning side of gang warfare with the rest of the kids on the street, she and her sisters were often one of Charlie’s Angels, a creature from Doctor Who, or setting traps for the neighbour because he acted suspicious.

Leaving school behind, Aspen decided life was something to hit head on. Camping under the stars while on camel safari through Rajasthan, India, was exotic; freezing her butt while on the Karakoram Range, Pakistan, was painful; listening to the roar of lions outside her tent in the Serengeti National Park, Kenya, was character building, and bungee jumping over the Zambezi was just plain mad.

While life on the go was great, being broke at home was not. Lost in dreams and travelling would not sustain her financially, so Aspen slowed long enough to complete a degree in science and scoop up a husband.

With mountaineer hubby, she became a fixture in Nepal, and it didn’t take either long to decide running their own trekking company would be fun. However, children radically changed their plans, with her first being born six months before they were due to lead their first expedition.

Aspen’s biggest adventure began, motherhood. Three children later and working in a laboratory, Aspen turned to her childhood passion of reading to fill the gap. Lost in the pages of one of her favorites, the idea of crafting her own emerged.

After joining her local writers’ centre and attending a workshop on romance writing, Aspen decided she was on the wrong career path. Swapping sides from factualising to fictionalizing life, she quit her job and started a Masters in Writing.

Soon after she discovered passion rather than academics was the key ingredient, so picked up the pen and began. Another workshop introduced her into the world of spicy writing, much to her husband’s delight, whom was forced to edit the manuscript and the practicalities of the spicy scenes.

When Aspen can extract herself from her characters, she can be found in her kitchen, crafting magic of a different nature. She often cooks while dictating to her computer, drives while dictating to her phone, and cleans while dictating to her husband—but the latter’s got nothing to do with fiction.

Aspen is currently dipping her quill into her third erotic romance, the first two are due out early 2017.

Aspen lives on 6.5 acres, which she shares with the wildlife, her husband and children.
